Dr Nasir Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation

Neurologist

Back to normal.

Quick answer

See a neurologist for stroke, Parkinson’s disease, unexplained weakness or numbness, tremor, seizures, and nerve pain that is not settling. Sudden one-sided weakness, difficulty speaking or facial drooping is a medical emergency — call an ambulance rather than booking an appointment.

Neurologists treat conditions of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. A large part of our own caseload — stroke rehabilitation, Parkinson’s, nerve injuries — sits alongside their care, and the division of labour is usually clean: they diagnose and medicate, we rebuild function.

When to see one

  • After a stroke, for ongoing management
  • Parkinson’s disease, or a tremor that is worsening
  • Unexplained weakness or numbness, especially if it is spreading
  • Seizures, or episodes of losing awareness
  • Persistent nerve pain, or nerve symptoms that are not settling
  • Progressive difficulty with walking, balance or coordination

How physiotherapy fits

Neurological rehabilitation is one of the areas where the two disciplines are least interchangeable and most complementary. Medication can reduce spasticity, control tremor and manage risk. It cannot teach a hand to grip again — that comes from a very large number of repetitions of the specific movement you want back.

Our neurological caseload runs from the first days after a stroke through to long-term maintenance, at our centres and at home. Recovery slows after six months but it does not stop, and people who restart structured work after a long gap still improve.

Where to see one

Our physiotherapy units run inside multi-speciality hospitals and nursing homes across West and South West Delhi — in Vikaspuri, Janakpuri, Uttam Nagar, Najafgarh and Dwarka — most of which run consultant clinics in this speciality. If you are already under our care, ask your therapist and we will tell you who holds a clinic at the centre you attend and how to get an appointment.

We are a physiotherapy and rehabilitation practice. We do not employ these consultants and we take no fee for pointing you at one; we work alongside them because most of our patients need both.

Need the physiotherapy side?

Book an assessment and we will tell you what rehabilitation can do, and whether you need a doctor first.

Frequently asked questions

What are the emergency signs?
Sudden weakness or numbness on one side, a drooping face, difficulty speaking or understanding speech, sudden severe headache, or sudden loss of vision. These need an ambulance, not an appointment. Time is the single biggest factor in stroke outcome.
Can rehabilitation start before I see a neurologist?
After an acute event you will normally have been seen already. For long-standing conditions, an assessment can begin while a consultation is pending, and we will tell you if something needs a doctor first.
