WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY?

WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY?

Introduction:-  Osteopathy is a type of manual therapy technique that aims to improve a patient’s quality of life by manipulating and strengthening the musculoskeletal framework.

It is used with conventional physiotherapy therapy to improve health.
It basically uses manual “hands-on” techniques to improve circulation and correct biomechanics without the use of any drug.
Osteopathy focuses on one’s whole body, including the soft tissues, the spine, the nervous system, etc. as it is believed that the involved joint can affect other joints surrounding it.
These techniques aim to reduce pain, improve movements and encourage blood flow.

TECHNIQUES:

  • Massage – to release muscle and fascia and relax muscles
  • Stretching- stiff joints
  • Articulation – where joints are moved through the range of motion
  • High-velocity thrust – also known as manipulation, is small amplitude high-velocity movement that produces clicking sounds.
