Quick answer
Dietetics provides individual dietary assessment and practical eating plans for weight management, diabetes, recovery after surgery or illness, and long-term conditions. Plans are built around what you normally eat and cook rather than around foods you will abandon within a fortnight.
Most diet plans fail because they are written for someone else's household, budget and cooking. A plan you will not follow is worth nothing regardless of how nutritionally correct it is.
What we help with
Weight management, type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes, high cholesterol and blood pressure, recovery nutrition after surgery or a long illness, nutrition in pregnancy, paediatric feeding concerns, and eating well with kidney or liver conditions.
How it works
Assessment covers what you actually eat, who cooks, what your day looks like and what has failed before. The plan is then built from that, in food terms rather than macronutrient tables.
We coordinate with the doctor managing any condition, particularly for diabetes and kidney disease where dietary change interacts with medication.
Recovery nutrition
Protein intake and overall energy have a direct effect on healing and on how much muscle you rebuild during rehabilitation. Patients doing intensive physiotherapy after surgery or a long admission often benefit from getting this right alongside the exercise.
